The sea was bent, tossed and released
Choir of Neptune came from the east
Polyps sea-green are spread over a mile in some mariner’s coast
And you walk, you stop, you talk to the winds
Words you hear are broken sign of ruins
From Apollo to Orpheus, the lyre was passed
And all the golden strings went on to rust
In the stretch of lines joining the desert at Lop Nor
I saw the shaman who was red like fire
Burning, burning, burning!
