UFO’67

Designs/Paintings by Renowned artist Samij Datta - inspired by the works of Pink Floyd

Description: Barrett’s See Emily Play is a psychedelic song characteristic of a child-like innocence and simplicity associated with the dreams of a school girl involved in gaming and playing. The phrase “Free Games for May” is deeply rooted in with an impetuous gaiety associated with festivals of spring and Saturnalia. The comic & lyrical element of Barrett’s songs carry the creative force of an innocent laughter that not only opens wide the imperfection in the world but also tries to transform and transcend it with a feeling of uninhibited joy.

With inspiration from:-
See Emily Play: “Emily tries but misunderstands, ah ooh/She often inclined to borrow somebody’s dreams till tomorrow”.
(Barrett; Pink Floyd; Album: Relics, 1971)

Fusion - the very word evokes the marriage of extremes; the past and the present, the sciences and the arts, the intellectual and the spiritual. ArtVantage celebrates the fusion of great cultural streams such as here with the forging of links between the visual arts and music - to help define the culture of the future.
